Healthy Dark Chocolate Granola

This dark chocolate granola gives cocoa pebble vibes, but with real food, nutritious ingredients. Perfect crunchy clusters, and rich chocolate flavor from dark chocolate and cacoa powder combine for the best chocolate treat. It tastes like dessert!

Equipment

  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Baking sheet or cookie sheet
  • Unbleached parchment paper
  • 1 Large wooden spoon
  • 1 Small saucepan

Ingredients
  

  • 5 cups organic rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup organic cacao powder
  • 3/4 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup real maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine the oatmeal, nuts, coconut, salt, and cacao powder in a large mixing bowl. Stir everything together.
  • In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the coconut oil and chocolate chips, stirring occasionally until smooth and mixed together.
  • Combine the dry ingredients with the melted chocolate/coconut oil, and add the maple syrup and vanilla. Stir everything together until mixed well.
  • Spread out the granola on the prepared baking sheet into an even layer.
  • Bake the granola for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • After the 45 minutes is up, let the granola cool completely on the counter before stirring again.
  • Once the granola is completely cool, store in an airtight container.
