Ingredients for Elderberry Lemonade Recipe
This delicious elderberry lemonade is filled with good ingredients that are immune boosting and hydrating for those hot summer days. It’s an easy way to replenish your minerals and it is so refreshing! For this recipe, you will need:
Elderberry Syrup
I enjoy making my own elderberry syrup, but you can also buy a kit if you prefer. Here’s how to make elderberry syrup at home:
- 4 Cups filtered water
- 1 cup elderberries
- 1 lemon, sliced,
- 1 inch ginger, peeled
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 3/4 cup honey (raw)
- Combine all ingredients except for the honey, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce to a simmer for 45 minutes until the liquid is reduced in half
- Remove from heat, and once it is completely cooled add the raw honey
- Run the mixture through a fine mesh strainer
- Store in the fridge for 3-4 weeks
Juice from a lemon
Lemons are one of the best natural sources of vitamin C (even higher than an orange). Between the lemon juice and the coconut water you will definitely be meeting your daily dose of vitamin C!Â
Coconut Water
Coconut water has loads of health benefits. Here are a few:
- Coconut water has potassium, sodium, and magnesium, which help maintain fluid balance and replenish the body’s electrolytes.
- Rich in vitamin C, several B vitamins, and minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and zinc.
- Coconut water contains antioxidants that help to neutralize oxidative stress and free radicals, reducing the risk of chronic diseases.
- Coconut water is known to be gentle on the stomach and can aid in digestion. It may help prevent and relieve indigestion and acid reflux.
- The hydrating properties of coconut water are beneficial for the skin, keeping it moisturized and reducing signs of aging. It can also help with skin conditions like acne due to its antimicrobial properties.
Raw Honey
Raw honey is another immune boosting (and overall health) powerhouse. If you want to learn more about raw honey and it’s benefits, I’ve got a full post here.
Ice Cubes (for serving)
How to Make Elderberry Lemonade

- Stir in one spoonful of raw honey*, plus or minus to taste

*If your raw honey is too solid to stir into the lemonade, warm it by placing the jar in hot water or popping it in the microwave for 5-10 seconds. This will help it to mix into the lemonade.
