In our house, one of our very favorite things is chips and salsa! It’s one of those food groups that can be hard to stop once you start. Have you ever had just one chip dipped in salsa? I know I haven’t! This chipotle blender salsa recipe is one of our favorites because it comes together in just a few minutes and there is very minimal chopping involved. Basically throw everything in the blender and it’s ready to eat! This recipe is a restaurant-style salsa and has delicious smoky flavor, with just the right amount of spice. You need just a few simple ingredients for this easy blender salsa recipe. You will need: 

  • 1 small white onion (or 1/2 of a large onion) – quartered
  • 1 can fire roasted tomatoes
  • 1 large handful of cilantro leaves
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1-2 chipotle peppers from adobo. These come in a can; this is where the spice comes from so adjust the amount depending on how much spice you like. 
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • salt and pepper to taste

Other Supplies You Will Need

  • High-powered blender or food processor – I use my ninja blender
  • Knife & cutting board
  • Can opener

Chipotle Blender Salsa Recipe

Here’s how to make the best salsa: 

Step 1: Combine all of the salsa ingredients in a blender or food processor.

Step 2: Blend until the salsa reaches your desired consistency. Blend just a little for a chunkier salsa, or blend it until it’s really smooth.

Step 3: Pour into a bowl, sprinkle with more chopped cilantro if desired, and serve with your favorite tortilla chips!

Note: The flavor of this salsa really develops as it sits. If you can, put the salsa in the fridge for a couple of hours (or overnight!) before serving for better flavor.
